Production 1 filmed over the course of 10 weeks in the New Jersey area, running from March through June. Across 45 days of active shooting, the weather remained relatively mild and consistent, with temperatures ranging from a crisp 31°F to a warm 84°F. Through it all, Haddad’s equipment performed flawlessly delivering reliable, uninterrupted power no matter the conditions.
This success was made possible through close collaboration with the basecamp electrician and the dedicated teamster driver, who played a critical role in ensuring smooth daily operations. Together, we were able to provide the production with a full sustainability snapshot detailing not only how much fuel was conserved and how much was consumed, but also the total CO₂ emissions avoided thanks to the use of Haddad’s Hybrid Basecamp Battery and Electric Trailers.
Our comprehensive reporting captured real world data for the 198kWh battery system, as well as usage from the basecamp generator, Electric Trailers and all supplemental generators. This level of transparency empowers productions to better understand their environmental impact and reinforces Haddad’s commitment to practical, real-world sustainability on every set.
The Haddad’s Hybrid Basecamp Battery supported basecamp operations for a total of 337 hours, with 53% of that time powered by the battery and the remaining 47% by a generator. This hybrid configuration helped avoid approximately 1,010 gallons of fuel use, resulting in a 57% fuel savings and preventing an estimated 10.3 metric tons of CO₂ emissions.
In addition, all other generators supporting the production ran for a combined 999 hours, consuming 337 gallons of fuel at an average rate of 0.34 gallons per hour.
Haddad’s also deployed six Electric Trailers on this production ranging from single-room to three-room units which operated on internal battery and solar power for a combined total of 2,783 hours. These trailers alone avoided the use of 946 gallons of fuel, resulting in an 83% fuel savings and preventing an additional 9.66 metric tons of CO₂ emissions.
The overall savings from Production 1 reflect the positive impact of behavioral changes implemented at basecamp.
